Reflective or Plain Bum Bag Strap: Which Should You Pick?

Decide between a reflective and plain bum bag strap for dog walks by matching visibility needs, colour preferences and your existing Cocopup bag.
Quick answer
Choose the Reflective Bum Bag Strap - Nude if you walk at dawn, dusk or after dark and want a visible strap; choose the Bum Bag Strap - Plain Pink if most walks are in daylight and you want a simple colour match. Both attach to a Cocopup Dog Walking Bag, so the decision is about when and how you walk, not fit.
Why the choice usually comes down to walking time
The two straps share the same job: they turn a Cocopup Dog Walking Bag into a hands-free carry. The practical difference is how each looks and performs when light is low. A reflective strap is designed to be more noticeable in headlights and street lighting, while a plain strap is chosen for its colour and everyday look.
If your walks are mostly midday park loops, the reflective finish adds little you will notice. If you regularly walk before sunrise or after sunset, it is the more useful default.
When a plain strap is the better pick
A plain strap makes sense when you want the bag to read as an everyday accessory rather than walking kit. Plain Pink is a single flat colour, so it pairs easily with pink, neutral or patterned Cocopup bags without competing with them.
The trade-off is honest: in low light, a plain strap will not give you the same visibility boost as a reflective one. If you walk on unlit roads or shared paths at night, treat plain as a daytime choice.
Check the colour name against the product you receive
The Reflective Bum Bag Strap is listed as Nude, but its catalog description refers to a black reflective strap. That is a real inconsistency in the supplied listing, so confirm the colour with the store before ordering if exact shade matters to you. Do not assume the reflective version matches a nude bag just because of the product name.
Diagnose which strap your walks need
- Symptom: you feel less visible on early or late walks: If your walks regularly happen in low light, choose the Reflective Bum Bag Strap - Nude. Its reflective finish is the reason to pick it over a plain strap. If most walks are in daylight, skip the reflective premium and move to the plain option.
- Likely cause: your current strap is plain and blends into dark clothing: A plain strap is not designed to stand out in headlights. If visibility is the problem, swapping to the reflective strap is the corrective action; if the problem is colour matching, a plain strap is the fix instead. Decide whether the issue is being seen or matching your bag before you swap.
- Corrective action: confirm the reflective colour before you buy: Because the Reflective Bum Bag Strap is named Nude but described as black in the catalog, check the actual colour with Cocopup London first. If you need a guaranteed shade, choose the Plain Pink strap, whose colour is stated plainly. Stop and ask the store if the reflective shade is unclear; do not order on the name alone.
- When to stop and choose another option: If you need a strap for a bag other than a Cocopup Dog Walking Bag, or you need reflective performance in a specific colour that is not confirmed, do not force either strap. Choose a different Cocopup strap or contact the store for a colour match. Fit and confirmed colour are the two reasons to walk away from this pair.
